Supporting the research and information collection needs development process for drinking water distribution systems according to the TCRDS "Agreement in Principle."  TCRDS Storage Analytical Framework (AF) Lead. AFs are in progress for intrusion, cross connections, storage, main installation/repair, biofilms, nitrification, and inorganic accumulations. Routt serving as lead for the Storage Analytical Framework working with team of Katherine Martel (Cadmus lead), Frank Letkiewicz, Sandie Konenig, and others from Cadmus, Melinda Friedman (Confluence Engineering Group), Vanessa Speight (Malcolm Pirnie), USEPA, and Water Research Foundation  in cooperation with the Research and Information Collection Partnership Steering Committee [comprized of USEPA, Centers for Disease Control, Water Research Foundation,  utilities, environmental, and state members]. 2009-2010.

Water Research Foundation  4109 "Criteria for Optimized Distribution Systems" - Co-Principle Investigator.  Team of Melinda Freidman/Confluence Engineering Group, Gregg Kirmeyer/HDR, Jan Routt/Jan Routt & Associates, and Mark LeChevallier, Steve Seidl/American Water. This work involves 26 utilities working with the project team and experts across the US and in Australia to develop a Partership for Safe Water-like program for assessment and optimization of drinking water distribution systems. 2007-2009.

Master Planning Study. City of Danville, Kentucky, with Bell Engineering, Lexington, Kentucky,  and Gannett Flemming, Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. Project includes reveiew of historical data and source to tap treatment optimization studies. 2007-2009.

"Gaseous Chlorine and Its Alternatives" a webcast managed Routt -- forum for Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies; managed  and moderated by Routt and including presentations from six U.S. utilities using chlorine gas alternatives (bulk hypochlorite or onsite generation).

AWWA Disinfection Systems Committee--Survey development and  coordination working with AWWA Disinfection Systems Committee. Two-part report in JAWWA October and November 2008 issues.
